We offer porcelain-fused-to-metal, lithium disilicate and zirconia crowns. Zirconia stands out for its strength, lithium disilicate for its aesthetics, and porcelain-fused-to-metal is the traditional option. The choice depends on the tooth location, the bite and the available space.
Usually not. The tooth is prepared under local anesthesia. Afterwards there may be temporary sensitivity, especially if the tooth still has its nerve.
Not always. Molars and premolars with little structure usually need one to prevent fractures; some front teeth can be restored another way. We decide after examining the tooth.
As a general reference, 10 to 15 years with good hygiene and check-ups. It may last more or less depending on the bite, bruxism and the condition of the tooth. It is not a guarantee.
It depends on the diagnosis and the material. Some cases are finished in a few visits; others first need a root canal, gum treatment or core build-up.
Not always. A post is used when there is little structure left to hold the build-up. It is only placed when needed.
